By replicating critical information between your primary data center and secondary disaster recovery (DR) site, Storage Engine's Disaster Recovery solutions protect business-critical data and enable fast recovery in the event of a disaster.
Storage Engine Advantages...
- Rapid resumption of business operations with minimal or no data loss
- Protects data from both planned and unplanned outages, as well as rolling disasters
- Vendor-neutral remote replication of SAN and NAS drives between various storage devices enables you to leverage existing storage resources
- Delta-based replication (only data that has changed) minimizes bandwidth consumption for enhanced backup consolidation
- Provides a granular and flexible mechanism for offsite data storage, with numerous layers of protection (replication, asynchronous mirroring, etc.)
- Application-aware technology maintains data integrity during replication of active messaging systems and databases
- Quickly promotes remote site data to primary data set status, giving application servers continued access to storage via IP or Fibre Channel
- "Any point-in-time" recovery lets organizations achieve established RPO and RTO levels
Outages can occur for many reasons: natural, manmade, or rolling disasters (gradual failures that remain undetected until it is too late); even planned downtime. If your data is not sufficiently protected, these events can bring your business to a standstill. To prevent inevitable data and revenue loss, your organization needs to recover data as quickly as possible in order to maintain business continuity and achieve established RTO and RPO levels.
Storage Engine's Synchronism Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions protect your data at every stage of a disaster... before, during, and after. Leveraging proven Storage Engine technology, these solutions enable rapid resumption of business operations while minimizing data loss - without requiring additional storage investments.
Proven, Application-Aware Storage Engine Technology for Layered Protection, Granular Recovery
Remote Replication protects your SAN-based systems by allowing a replica disk to be preassigned to hot standby machines at a DR site. If disaster strikes, the replica is promoted to primary status, and the LUN assignment operates automatically. After a disaster, Synchronism DR solutions reverse-synchronize newer data from the DR site back to the primary site, scanning for differences to further ensure data integrity and business continuity.
Extend Data Protection to Your Remote Offices with Storage Engine's ROBO Solution
Did you know that as much as 75% of your critical data could reside in remote and satellite offices, outside the bounds of regular backup? For this reason, Storage Engine proudly offers a Remote Office/Branch Office (ROBO) Backup Consolidation Solution. This solution provides disk-based local and remote continuous data protection (CDP) between regularly scheduled tape backups for every office in your enterprise. Easy to deploy and use, this turnkey solution improves backup at remote offices by delivering rapid, granular data recovery, eliminating dependency on backup windows while automatically consolidating remote backup across the extended enterprise.

TimeMark®/CDP Option features point-in-time (PiT) imaging, which journals each and every change made to your data - up to 256 per LUN. In the event of a disaster, the replica can be promoted, and delta snapshots can be used to roll back to a known good point in time. And since only changes are replicated, network bandwidth and overhead is minimized.
FileSafe ™ and DiskSafe ™ protect direct attached storage (DAS) systems by replicating file-level and block-level data to Synchronism-managed disk rather than to tape. You can opt to perform tape backup at a centralized data center, separately from production machines, without any workflow interruption.
Asynchronous Mirroring provides an additional layer of data protection by making a low-loss mirror copy of primary data. During a disaster, this mirror copy completes the recovery process as the replica is used to instantly restart the system. If a disaster is abrupt and occurs mid-replication, this feature recovers any additional transactions not found in the original replica.
Snapshot Agents for databases, file systems, and message stores (Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, IBM DB2 UDB, Lotus Notes/Domino, etc.) enable rapid restart by ensuring that a replica remains in a consistent state and can be promoted and mounted by the OS and database/messaging application. Application awareness maintains data integrity and enables essential information to be recovered very quickly, without lengthy consistency checks.
