Securing Data in the Quantum Era
Quantum computing is no longer theoretical; it is advancing at a pace that is expected to impact the long-term security of today’s encryption.
The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released its initial post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards (2024) and urges organizations to begin inventorying cryptographic assets and preparing for phased migration.
The risk is clear: adversaries can harvest encrypted data today and decrypt it later once cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs) are operational, particularly for long-lived or highly sensitive data. For government agencies, critical infrastructure, healthcare, financial institutions, and research organizations, the cost of delaying preparation increases exposure and makes future remediation significantly more difficult.
Governments worldwide are now setting clearer expectations for post-quantum security.
United States:
Federal agencies and critical-infrastructure operators are being urged to prepare for a transition to post-quantum cryptography under CISA, NSA, and NIST guidance, and the Quantum Computing Cybersecurity Preparedness Act establishes requirements for federal agencies to assess cryptographic risk and plan for PQC adoption.

European Union:
ENISA and national cybersecurity agencies such as BSI have issued guidance urging organizations to prepare for PQC and have begun incorporating post-quantum considerations into EU-level cybersecurity planning and frameworks.
(Source: ENISA “Post-Quantum Cryptography: Current State and Quantum Mitigation”; BSI Joint PQC Statement)
Asia-Pacific:
Several governments in the region, including Singapore, India, and Indonesia, have launched or announced quantum-safe or PQC readiness initiatives as part of broader cybersecurity modernization efforts.

Ongoing monitoring, compliance reporting, and operational support.

SEIQURE™: Advancing Crypto-Agility-PQC Transition
Building on SEI’s Cryptography Transition System, known as SEI Quantum Ready (SEIQURE™), helps organizations identify, prioritize, and manage cryptographic risk while preparing for the transition to post-quantum cryptography. It brings together secure infrastructure, cryptographic lifecycle management, AI-assisted analysis, and professional services within a practical modernization strategy.
SEIQURE is designed as an integrated enterprise appliance solution that limits impact on running applications and legacy systems, and is also available as a software-only solution. It combines secure infrastructure, cryptographic security technologies, and implementation services to support cryptographic inventory, risk assessment, compliance monitoring, reporting, remediation workflows, and long-term crypto-agility. SEI complements these capabilities with solution architecture, systems integration, governance, support coordination, and sustainment services that help organizations operationalize their cryptographic modernization strategy.
Depending on organizational requirements and implementation scope, SEIQURE can support:
AI guardrails are in place to ensure AI-assisted capabilities are utilized only where approved. AI supports analysis and workflow efficiency, while security decisions and operational changes remain under human oversight and established customer controls.
By bringing infrastructure, cryptographic modernization, intelligent analysis, and operational governance together, SEIQURE provides organizations with a structured approach to strengthening crypto-agility. It helps improve visibility into cryptographic risk, prioritize high-value assets, strengthen governance, and support ongoing adaptation as standards, technologies, and operational requirements evolve.
Reduces exposure to harvest-now, decrypt-later threats.
Enhances encryption and key management without interrupting operations.
Aligns security programs with NIST guidelines and emerging compliance expectations.
Demonstrates proactive, accountable security leadership to boards, auditors, and regulators.

The quantum security space includes a wide range of new tools and emerging approaches, from PQC research to early-stage QKD and cryptographic modernization solutions. Many remain experimental or siloed, which makes it difficult for organizations to turn theory into operational value.
Storage Engine, Inc. (SEI) brings stability and experience to this evolving landscape. As a Department of Defense Facility Cleared provider with more than 25 years of enterprise data experience, SEI delivers solutions that help organizations strengthen encryption, improve key management, and prepare for post-quantum requirements in alignment with NIST guidelines.
The SEI QUantum REady (SEIQURE)™ platform enables organizations to take practical steps toward quantum readiness today by enhancing the protection of sensitive data, supporting compliance modernization, and maintaining operational continuity across hybrid environments.
SEI helps organizations address tomorrow’s risks with secure, proven, and deployable capabilities available now.
Many quantum-security offerings remain focused on research, future planning, or small-scale pilots that are difficult to put into real-world use. SEI provides a different approach by helping organizations take practical, deployable steps toward quantum readiness now.
With more than 25 years of experience supporting defense, healthcare, and financial institutions, SEI helps organizations strengthen encryption, improve key management, and align with NIST migration guidance and emerging federal requirements. Clients rely on SEI for an enterprise-grade approach that integrates with existing security technologies and delivers clear, actionable progress without disruption.

SEI’s quantum-safe roadmap aligns with NIST migration guidance and federal preparedness expectations. It provides executives and technical leaders with a clear path from assessment to long-term readiness.
Each phase is supported by SEI QUantum REady (SEIQURE)™ architecture and established enterprise security best practices to help ensure modernization is secure, scalable, and audit-ready.
The shift to post-quantum security is accelerating, and organizations that begin preparing now will be better positioned to protect sensitive data, meet evolving requirements, and reduce long-term risk.
